Person-Centered Therapy

An infographic titled "Three Main Elements To Understand Person-Centered Therapies" listing three elements: 1. Empathy - understanding the client's perspective; 2. Congruence - being genuine and honest with the client; 3. Unconditional Positive Regard - accepting and supporting clients without conditions.

Person-Centered Therapy is an approach to therapy that puts an emphasis on the clients personal growth and further self-discovery. It is a client-led practice meaning that the therapist is there to try and understand the world from their clients perspective whilst consonantly showing the three key concepts described in the image on the right. In a way, this practice encourages the client to become their own counsellor with the actual therapist/counsellor becoming similar to a spectator to their clients own self-guided healing.
